Nurturing Mind and Heart

Total involvement in learning is a worthy goal.  The phrase, “Heart, soul, mind and strength” serves as inspiration.  The wise teacher makes learning a joy, and in an atmosphere of love children learn quickly. In selecting material, I look for songs that assure the child that he or she is special, songs about the beauty of creation, songs that remind us to be thankful and express our thanks. Whatever the learning activity, I see no reason for creating a dichotomy between thought and feeling.  Helen Kemp, a well-known director of children’s choir said, “Body, mind, spirit, voice; it takes the whole person to sing and rejoice!”

T As I was preparing this video presentation, I had the misfortune of falling and losing my upper teeth.
I chose not to be on camera and instead have recorded my script and placed it on the screen.
